Practical Wisdom: Love Will Answer

If you’ve been reading my blog for any length of time, you’ve probably noticed that in recent weeks I’ve been writing from a deeper, more tender place. The world has felt heavy, and I’ve been honest about the ache of it. It would be easier to stay on the surface of things and feign normalcy, but that’s not where truth lives. Things are not normal. I want to meet you in the honest center of what’s real.
Like many of you, I’ve felt stretched between hope and weariness, between what I know in spirit and what I see happening in the world. Some days the weight of it all feels personal. Other days it feels like the whole planet is exhaling through us.
Yet in the stillness, beneath thought and emotion, I hear the quiet voice of Spirit. It reminds me to see with spiritual eyes what physical eyes can’t perceive. It asks me to look again and to trust that even when I can’t discern a pattern, divine intelligence is still at work, weaving love through everything. And so, I wonder. What if what’s happening in the world isn’t an error, but a sacred unfolding?
What if the very moments that cause us to question our humanity are the ones guiding us most directly toward love in its fullest form?
We’re born into a world that teaches through experience. Here, spirit learns through touch, sound, joy, and loss. Life itself becomes our teacher. We come to understand light by walking through shadow. We learn compassion by meeting suffering. We discover faith when there seems to be no map. Ancient wisdom keepers have always known this. The soul’s journey through matter is a holy apprenticeship. Every challenge, every joy, and every longing is a lesson in remembering what’s divine within what’s human.
When we begin to see life this way, even the difficult moments become part of our awakening. The painful parts of the story aren’t punishment. They’re invitations to love more deeply, to live from a wider heart.
I’ve come to realized that sometimes the mind can’t explain what the heart feels. That’s when transformation begins. In this inner landscape, emotion becomes its own language. Grief, tenderness, and frustration all reveal what we most value. They show us the depth of our capacity to love, as well as where we fall short.
When certainty fades, something unexpected rises in its place. The heart learns to trust what can’t yet be proven. In the quiet, we begin to hear what Rumi called “the music beneath the noise.” Slowly we realize that life isn’t working against us. It’s shaping us, refining us into beings who can carry more compassion. Beyond the ache and the uncertainty lies a deeper knowing. It’s the recognition that everything is connected. No life stands apart. The same breath that fills our lungs moves through the trees and stirs the ocean.
Mystics across the ages have tried to describe this awareness. Some call it the kingdom of heaven. Some call it the Self. I call it Big Love or capital L Love. Whatever name we give it, the truth is the same. We’re not searching for something that’s missing. We’re uncovering what’s always been here. Underneath everything, LOVE is the fabric of the Universe. Love inseparably connects us all to each other.
When we remember this, forgiveness becomes a natural response. Compassion becomes strength. We stop trying to fix the world. We begin to tend to it, gently and reverently, as an expression of our one heart.
The planet is changing, and so are we. The rhythm of creation is calling us into greater alignment with love. What feels uncertain may be the turning of the soil before new life begins to grow. Teilhard de Chardin once wrote that humanity would someday harness the energies of love as we once harnessed fire. That time may be dawning now. Every kind word, every act of mercy, every moment of courage adds light to the collective field.
The Divine isn’t testing us. The Divine is trusting us. Trusting that the human heart can hold both the ache of uncertainty and the beauty of remembering who and what we truly are.
The invitation is to stay present. Live gently. Let love shape your smallest decisions.
Touch the earth and feel her steady rhythm. Let your emotions move through you without judgment. Speak words that bring peace. Look for what’s sacred right where you stand. You don’t need to understand the whole design. You only need to stay open to love as it moves through you. Trust that the same intelligence that shaped the stars is shaping your life, moment by moment, heartbeat by heartbeat.
Maybe what’s happening isn’t the undoing of the world. Maybe it’s the world remembering itself. Maybe we’re being guided toward the awareness that love has been the plan all along.
Reflection
Sit quietly for a few moments.
Breathe into your heart.
Ask yourself:
If every experience is an initiation into greater love,
how will I live today?
What will I release?
What will I bless?
Listen.
Love will answer.
