Practical Wisdom: Let It Rise, Sister

Practical Wisdom with Rev Dr Ahriana Platten

I’m feeling tired of the way things are in the country I’ve treasured all my life. I see cruelty, injustice, and a lack of compassion. I hear religion being used as a weapon. I watch as individuals walk blindly over the needs of the greater community in pursuit of personal interests.

We’ve become an international spectacle that leaves me feeling such a deep sense of loss. I rarely speak about any of it directly because, as a minister, my voice is curbed by the desire to serve all people lovingly. Instead, I look for the good I can find, and offer spiritual teachings and practices that encourage people to consider what’s important to them.

It’s a quiet, reasonable rebellion.

I’ve been watching my beloved sister-in-love, Sarene, bring her bold voice into the world to inform, challenge, and create change. She has a courageous heart and a willing soul – something I admire in her and women like her. Something that inspires me to write today.

Hers is a sound the earth waits to rise. It’s not the clashing of swords or the pounding of fists. It’s not another echo of power-over or a new angle on the cycle of domination we've all grown weary of.  It’s the sound of women releasing their rage, not as destruction, but as revelation.

Let me explain...

We’ve been taught to stay composed. To be nice. To keep the peace even when it's hard to find. Unfortunately, peace that’s purchased with silence is not peace. It’s suppression. And it leaves a residue in the body that turns into illness, restlessness, and shame.

To be clear, feminine rage is not the opposite of love. It’s often born from love. A love for our children, for our bodies, for the sacredness of life. It’s a fire that ignites when what we cherish is desecrated.

When women unleash their rage in a truly feminine way, the world will change.

It won’t be a mirror image of male aggression. Women’s rage doesn’t seek to conquer. It seeks to cleanse. It doesn’t demand power for power’s sake. It demands truth, equity, and restoration.

Imagine a world where women speak their truths and are met not with judgment but with listening. Imagine boardrooms where emotion is seen as intelligence. Churches where the sacred feminine is honored as deeply as the sacred masculine. Classrooms where young girls are told their anger is a compass, not a curse.

Feminine rage, when allowed to move, transforms. It becomes clarity. Courage. Fierce compassion. Determination. It doesn't flinch when facing hard truths and doesn’t run when things get messy.

Feminine rage isn't simply uncontrolled release. It’s a well-considered and effective action.

Friends, this isn’t a call for chaos. It’s a call for authenticity. For the sacred return of the wild feminine voice that's been domesticated for too long. We don’t need to be like men. We are women…fully embodied, fully feeling, and unafraid to speak what’s been buried for generations.

This is how the world changes. Not through war cries, but through the uplifting of truth. Through a roar that says: No more pretending. No more performing. No more waiting to be granted permission.

Our rage is holy. Our voices are needed. And when we use them to reweave the world, everything begins to shift.

Let it rise, sister.

The world is listening.
